UNODC has launched a new survey to collect feedback on the World Drug Report.

The objective of this survey is to maintain the relevance of the World Drug Report by understanding how it is used and the extent to which it fulfils the needs and expectations of its readers.

The deadline for submission is the 21st of September.

On 29 July 2020, UNODC Civil Society Team and the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC), in collaboration with UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia (UNODC ROCA), jointly organized a web seminar on the World Drug Report 2020 for Central Asia. Dr. Borikhan Shaumarov, UNODC Mentor, UNODC ROCA assisted preparation of this webinar and presentation in Russian.

UNODC Mentor in collaboration with colleagues from Coordination and Analysis Unit of the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia conducted a rapid assessment in four countries of Central Asia. 24-29 February 2020 - A team of national trainers from Central Asia attended the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC) Regional Training of Trainers held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The training was organized by the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia within the framework of UNODC global project – “Treating drug dependence and its health consequences: Treatnet II”.

Abstract | Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a chronic relapsing disorder that, whilst initially driven by activation of brain reward neurocircuits, increasingly engages anti-reward neurocircuits that drive adverse emotional states and relapse. However, successful recovery is possible with appropriate treatment, although with a persisting propensity to relapse. My name is Brian, I work with USAID in the Kyrgyz Republic. We are seeing younger people contracting HIV and but seem to have the PWIDs (typically male, 40-50) population saturated in HIV treatment and prevention. We have heard from partners that there is a growing use of synthetics and amphetamines among the younger population, but would love to speak to a researcher or organization that may better have their finger on the pulse of young users.

From 23-31 July 2019, a team of master trainers from Central Asia attended the Regional Training of Trainers for Central Asia held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The training was organized by Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) within the framework of UNODC joint capacity building activity with Colombo Plan.
