The Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme (DAP) launched a new prevention initiative to address the need for competent professionals involved in drug use prevention across Central Asia. The first training aimed at prevention practitioners titled, “UPC 10 – Introduction to the Universal Prevention Curriculum Series for Practitioners”, convened in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from 15 – 20 April 2024.

Apply for In-Person Training at the Thessaloniki 2024 Global Event

The 2024 Global Event will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece between 24th & 28th June, 2024. The event is organised by ISSUP and ISSUP Greece, INL, the Centers for the Prevention of Addictions, the Promotion of Psychosocial Health SEIRIOS and ICUDDR.  The event will take place in the historic center of Thessaloniki, on the premises of the ‘International Exhibition & Congress Centre of TIF-HELEXPO’ and surrounding conference rooms in museums and social institutions.

The UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia held a Regional Training of Trainers (ToT) on Course 20 – “Populations with Special Clinical Needs” which took place in person in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on 23-27 October 2023. The UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia in collaboration with Prevention, Treatment and Rehabilitation Section, UNODC HQ held a Regional Training of Trainers (ToT) on Course 20 – “Populations with Special Clinical Needs” which took place in person in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 17-22 July 2023. This course is a part of the Advanced Level of the Universal Treatment Curriculum for Substance Use Disorders (UTC training package).
