مقدمه: میزان بالای مصرف مواد، نیاز به مداخله در پیشگیری اولیه از مصرف تنباکو را برجسته می کند. هدف از این مطالعه تعیین اثر پیام های ضد سیگار کشیدن برای ایجاد انگیزه در کاهش سیگار بود.

روش بررسی: فرض بر این بود که پیام ها باعث کاهش فرکانس مصرف سیگار می شوند. تاثیر پیام ها بر قصد سیگار کشیدن، احساسات منفی، خود اثر بخشی درک شده و رفتار بهداشتی نیز اندازه گیری شد. برای جمع آوری داده ها از پرسشنامه های معتبر و معتبر مربوطه برای اين مطالعه تجربی استفاده شد.
