A supportive environment with nurturing caregivers is essential for the healthy development of children. For children who have been exposed to extreme stress, such as humanitarian contexts, the need for strong, healthy, nurturing caregiver relationships may assume even greater importance. The Strong Families programme, a UNODC family skills intervention, is presented as an example of an intervention that aims to bridge this gap of interventions that meet the need for humanitarian and contexts of extreme stress.

BACKGROUND

Alcohol abuse and addiction are a widespread problem that leads to a serious collision and pose a serious threat to individuals as well as to society as a whole. In addition to the health aspect of alcohol consumption, social and economic aspects should not be overlooked, as there is also evidence of a critical situation in these dimensions. Reducing alcohol consumption therefore remains not only a public health priority, but also a social and economic priority. It is always necessary to provide information about the current state of knowledge focused on alcohol consumption from...

INTRODUCTION

The ACE (Adverse Childhood Experiences) concept is based on the results of an American population-based cohort study published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine in 1998. ACE is classified into three groups: abuse, neglect, and household challenges. The main goal of our work is the identification and description of factors affecting the psychosocial development of an individual in a family with a parent with a long-term addiction in relation to the development of a criminal career.
