I would like to open a discussion on your thoughts and insights regarding the news of ISSUP International on their relationship with ISSUP Philippines. 

My initial views of this announcement is that it's a positive development. I think it will be a move to the direction where it will open up opportunities for new blood to participate actively and let the old guards retire to leave a positive legacy.

Continuing their commitment to promote the Universal Treatment Curriculum (UTC), Serenity in the Steps conducted a “Basic Counseling Skills for Addiction Professionals (UTC 4)" training session. It was delivered in a live training format with blended online components over a 10-day period. Clients of Serenity in the Steps were trained for recovery coach or peer support specialist credentials, among others, in Baguio City, Philippines. Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program Education Provider and ISSUP pioneer member, Serenity in the Steps, hosted a 6 day Universal Treatment Curriculum training for three major Philippine City Anti-Drug Abuse Councils from October 7-12, 2019. Makati city, Cebu city, and the Municipality of Agoo stakeholders participated in two of the first of a series of UTC trainings that would equip their respective community based recovery programs with evidence based tools.
