The Communications Officer (Media Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement) provides high-level input within the NDARC Communications Team by developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan for proactive and reactive media and key stakeholder engagement, The Communications Officer (Media Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement) will act as the main media liaison for NDARC and will provide advice to the Centre on issues related to media and communications. As part of the NDARC Communications Team, the Communications Officer (Media Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement) will be called upon to produce content towards all of NDARC’s communication channels when appropriate.

Knowledge of the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) or related sectors would be highly regarded. The role of Communications Officer (Media Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement) reports to the Senior Communications Officer and has no direct reports.   • to investigate what interventions delivered in the community might have combined impacts on all three public health issues;
  • to use existing datasets to explore the prevalence of the ‘toxic trio’ in families, and the clustering of individual, family and community risk factors that might be addressed by early intervention;

There is a vacant position in the Department for Sociology and Geography for a Postdoctoral Fellow.

The position is funded by the Research Council of Norway and is dedicated to the newly established research centre PROMENTA in which the Department of Sociology and Human Geography will participate with the project Drug Policy Reform.

We will investigate questions related to the development of international drug policy, new knowledge regimes, drug user careers, social marginalization and the possible consequences of decriminalization of the use and possession of drugs. We will also monitor new patterns of alcohol and drug use among adolescents, associated sociocultural aspects and identities, and new models of prevention and sanctioning by the police and the court system.

The Global Drug Policy Program (GDPP) of the Open Society Foundations seeks to shift the policy paradigm on illicit drugs from today’s punitive approach to one rooted in human rights, sustainable development, and public health.

The Program Officer is a pivotal role at Open Society. The role has responsibility for engaging with fields of interest to OSF, developing appropriate strategies and tools for fostering desired social change, while also developing and managing relationships with other entities including potential and current grantees.  The Program Officer works collaboratively both within OSF and with external entities whose goals are aligned with the Global Drug Policy Program.
