Asian Regional NC Meeting 2025: Key insights and priorities for the year ahead

As part of the 2025 ISSUP Indonesia Conference, we held the Asian Regional National Chapter (NC) meeting on September 16th, 2025, with representatives from Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. In addition to sharing updates on youth initiatives, collaborations with local and international stakeholders, events (conferences, webinars, etc.), and trainings, the National Chapters worked together to brainstorm what would be most valuable for ISSUP members in 2026.
We reflected on the following key questions:
- What are the top three issues or opportunities we must address in the next year?
- What skills, knowledge, or partnerships would help your National Chapter grow stronger?
- Who do we need to collaborate with outside our usual circles to create change?
As a summary, there is much more to come in the year ahead, including the World Drug Report Roundtable Webinar for Asia, greater involvement of youth in ISSUP NC and global activities, and updates on upcoming training opportunities across the region.
If you have read this far, we invite you to share your thoughts in the comments below: What would be of most interest to you as an ISSUP member?
